Hi, my name is Dr. Karen Piering Abbott and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder and lead guide for Fresh Eyes~Mindful Nature Walks. Like many, I have always been drawn to nature as a source of light, restoration and connection, as well as a space to move in energetically. As life becomes more and more complex, that draw to nature, movement and my breath becomes even more vital, as I need reminders of the beauty and peace of nature, its adaptive qualities and the unifying power of our connection to all living things. The strong pull outside helps me to ground, reconnect and check in on my own well being, as well as provide some physical separation from the stressors inherent in life. This self care allows me to remain present to those who need me; my family, my clients, my neighbors and myself.
Connecting to a childhood spent outdoors in my neighborhood, I began offering walking sessions in my private practice in January of 2021. Experiencing the benefits of meeting in nature firsthand, Fresh Eyes~Mindful Nature Walks was created as an offering to the overall community as a space to connect, renew and recharge.
